Contact your owners club and see if they will do it, if not contact a member with extensive experience of your cars model and ask them ? _________________ Owner of a 1953 Sunbeam Alpine |

A lot of classic car policies require club membership and the policy will be invalidated without it _________________ Rover P2

Yep, been a member for years. They have offered to do one but they're based up north and I'm on the south coast
A local garage will be asked, I think |

Yet another urban myth I'm afraid. Some insurers do ask if you are a club member and that gets you a discount, but it isn't a requirement for insurance purposes.
However, a valuation can be carried out by a club specialist or a marque specialist. For two of my cars, because of their rarity, the only real person who could give a valuation is he who built them, not a club official. Similarly (not knowing what make of car we are referring to here) there is surely a specialist garage who can give a valuation for a reasonable fee? |

Correct. Also some insurers pay a commission to clubs from premiums received from members. |

Its a good faith requirement for the contract with the insurer - you break it they can break their side too and not pay out - it is also fraud when you say you have it and you do not _________________ Rover P2
