I am struggleing to find the plastic strip or capping that is found on many '60's and '70's caravan windows. or should I say struggleing to find it in a 22mm size (internal dimention) for the rear windows of my '68 Stirling. anybody out there know of a supplier that has it in this size, or do you have a 3 yard lent yourself stuck on a hook in the workshop you would be willing to sell?
any help appriciated _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |

Thankyou for the info , managed to get some 25mm from pionere caravans, my local supplier Gearbox in Melton Mowbray just couldn't get any that thin. I removed the windows, fitted it on then warmed it up gently with a heat gun, shrank back perfectly to make a nice snug fit. with no marks or anything. looks as good as new.. think the fixed rear window had never been out befor as it still had some of the 43 year old stuff stuck to the ally frame and the inside lip of the plastic trim was a different standard , was cut in half and fixed into place with 1 1/2' nails. lucky the timber frame or the formica was not split or damaged. _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |

Another satisfied customer.
Heard a sad story today at Maxey Classic Car Show....a chap was in our local scrap yard last week and the council brought in a Viking Caravan, they crushed it before he could even take the badges off.
That would have kept a few more on the road.
