|

Hi, I'm busy illustrating a Citroen DS (pics of current progress are below), and I can't get my head around the visual differences and production timelines of the Citroen DS. At the moment I'm confused about DS, ID, 19, 20, 23 and Pallas!
I'm doing a version with two round headlights - is this the ID?
I'm also doing a version with the glassed-in 4 headlights - is this the pure DS?
Can anyone explain years of production to me?
Sorry to ask so many questions, thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Hepcat
P.S. You can check out my progress at my website: http://www.hepcatclassics.com/workshop.html

Hepcat,
Your top picture is the original shape DS & ID and ran from 1955-62-ish
The bottom picture has the European headlamp on the R/Side and the American spec. lamo on the L/Side
The ID was a cheaper/simpler car. It had manual gearshift for a start. I think the brakes were different too. Perhaps Greeney will cime in and give you the diffinitive answer.

Thanks Art. I'm still working on the bottom pic, so I'm planning to make both headlights the European style ones.
That's good to know that the earlier version of both DS and ID had the round headlights. Thanks mate! _________________ www.hepcatclassics.com - for classic car artworks |

IIRC the early cars were different again, with "frog eye" like headlamp arrangement. |

Thanks for the links everyone. I've gotten my head around the different versions now.
My DS illustrations are almost complete. Here's where it is now, but you can check out my workshop to see the whole progress at
