I need to transport a Triumph Spitfire from Somerset to Southport. My first thought is to hire a 4 wheel car trailer and borrow a biggish car with a tow bar and do it myself but then a friend said he had a rigid tow-bar I could borrow but he thinks the car being towed has to be insured, taxed and MOT'd. The Spitfire has holes in the floor so no-MOT so this may be a non-starter. If this is right I assume the same rules would apply to a 2 wheel "dolly" towing rig ?
Another suggestion was to find a commercial truck that is coming back North with an empty load and see if they will bring it.
Any ideas where would I find blokes that do this ? _________________ Owner of a 1953 Sunbeam Alpine |

even better, put it out to bid and see how much that costs:
http://www.shiply.com/
taking into account transporter hire and diesel costs, the shiply bids are better value
The only down side .. I miss out on a ploughmans with scrumpy _________________ Owner of a 1953 Sunbeam Alpine |
