Just about to tidy up my 1939 600 Sq4 Ariel. Saw (on fleabay) new, chromed fuel tanks advertized: From India around £200.

Anyone had experience of these? I would solve a big problem for me as my tank is dented and filled under the paint, and would probably not take chroming.

Not a petrol tank, but I bought a new Triumph 5T tool/battery box from India. One that matches the oil tank on the other side on the fifties pre-unit swinging arm models.
It is beautifully made, without a ripple. Presumably handmade by some very clever panel beater. I was well pleased, But I should point out that was well painted in black and gold lined. Not Chromed.
Pity about the paint though, because my bike is Amaranth Red.
Jim.

Thanks Jim. A big worry is getting the right tank for the bike as the shipping from India it a bit expensive. Won't need it for about 6months so I may have more info then.
