Picked up my dads Moggy Minor today, he has not used it since Dec 05, and has now decided to give up driving.
I’m going to get it MOT’d and then sell it for him, it will need some welding round the spring hangers which I‘m hoping to do this week.

Mentioned in another post the sort of modifications he did, always for a “practical” reason! this car has a brake servo, unleaded head, and the extras on the dash below!, it wouldn’t take much to put it all back to original.

Hoping to get it MOT’d in the next couple of weeks, and then sell it, if you are interested in it let me know.

Hi

Dmolishing an outbuilding sounds a very upsetting experience but like you say, your new garage has probably made up for it!

Cheers

I did the welding that it failed the MOT on ( a couple of small holes near the rear spring hanger, but when I jacked up the driver side the door gap went from about 1/4 inch to over 1" !!, so obvious problem with the sills (which were all done about 8 years ago together with the cross member), took the sill cover plate off the sills are ok (have the correct addditional soft top sill strengthener) its just the metal they are welded to at the front is shot, so i'm goin to put new sills in anyway when I do those repairs. Ironically this would never have been spoted on the MOT as its all hidden!
I'm also going to replace to replace the floor panels, they are not too bad, but my Dad in his wisdom coated them with glass fibre , because on his last morris the carpets used to ge a bit wet through some minor leak, never dry out propperly and would rot the floor, trouble is whilst it is stopping this it looks like a huge bodge! ( which its not), so have a couple more weekend work !

The sagging car was due to a lack of good metal at the bottom of the A post, all the inner components of the sills have only the lightest of surface rust.

When I jack the car up now (bearing in mind the jacking point is right in the middle of the car) I still get about 6mm increase in door gap at the top of the door, the other side is the same, is this normal for a soft top moggy ?
