|
|
When growing up I regularly acquired brochures from the local Austin/Morris/Jaguar etc garage, some of which I still have. In the 80s I carried on collecting all manner of catalogues, but by the late 1990s other things started taking up my time (like buying a house etc!). Since then just odd ones have come along, but I've kept quite a few and still look out for brochures relating to cars I've got now.
Anyone else have this unhealthy hoarding habit??

I'm guilty!
I have a few, mostly of cars that I've owned in the past and up to current vehicles.
I think the '42 Studebaker Champion brochure is the oldest I have.
Also have a lot of boat and outboard motor brochures from the 50's on up. |

In 1964, a friend of my Dad's would save his Autocar magazines and give them to me at the end of each month.
This went on until 1969 and I still have every single one of them.
In the 1970's I bought Motor Sport, Cars and Car Conversions, Hot Car and Custom Car every month, and I still have every copy.
In the 1980's I started buying Car Magazine, Practical Classics, Classic Cars and Classic and Sportscar - I have every copy to date.
Almost 2200 magazines that are bringing down the ceiling in my hall! _________________ Brian

I am a bit guilty too, used to buy miniworld and mini magazine regularly and have quite a lot now. Nowadays I just buy the odd one out every now and then and also practical classics. The cost and also the internet has seen to that. |

I now am short of space and have to 'streamline' my collection of 'memorabilia ' ...and just keep things for the car I own.
But I do have a lot of Custom Car, Street Macine and Volksworld Magazines dating from 1980's on, that if anyone's interested can have if willing to collect from the Kent area |
