Hi
My name is Bobby and I have just joined the forum.
I have a 1935 Morris 8 and am a member of the Morris Register.
If there is anyone out there with a similar car then I would be very interested in hearing from them, also your car is missing quite a few bits and was wondering if anybody could help in finding the parts required.

Regards to all

Hi Bobby

welcome to the forum,Very Happy

I have 3 varients of the Morris 8, there a number of other Morris 8 owners on this forum.

In terms of spare bits; mechanical bits are pretty common and not too expensive, body bits not so common, but the 8 is made up of mainly simple panels so easy repair or fabrication from scratch.

What 8 do you have (any pics) and what bits are you missing?

Cheers

Dave

Hi All
The Morris is a Pre-series.
The body panels is not to bad and is fixable. We require bumper, rear lights, back seat, interior, and a sun roof.
We have not stripped the car down yet but hopefully in the next month or 2 we will start to remove the panels and body tub.

Hi
Yes they where primed and some repairs done on the back ones, the front are rusted on the inside that will need welding. It looks like they where just stuck on to sell the car.

Have you had it running, or is the mechanical condition still unknown?

Hi RJ
No we have not had it running by the looks of the engine it will need stripped and rebuild.
We did try to get the spark plugs out to pour diesel in the bores but they looked to rusty and decided to wait until we get heat on them.

Bob, when you've removed the plugs take a look at my thread "1937 Morris 8 dry siezed engine". I was advised to pour Coca Cola down the bores to free up the engine and it worked perfectly.

By the way, welcome to this cracking forum and enjoy Morris 8 ownership. Wink

Hi Bob,

I think persistent crawling around ebay will turn up most parts you need, sooner or later:

Agree about eBay. I don't bother with specific searches on eBay. I use the All Categories bit and type in Morris 8. It's odd the places that some people place their offered goods.

It's working. I now know our postman quite well as every day's an eBay day. There's loads out there.

Oh, and I know what you mean about the Morris Register site. I'm new as a member, too, and it's not yet been of much help. I was amused to get an email from their webmaster telling me that he had no record of my email address. Question Love it.

Hi,
I have 2 Morris 8's having just purchased the second one yesterday.
I have found that the forum on the Morris register is staerting to be used more now, but a year ago hardly anyone made any posts.
Also there is an email system that you can log onto, this is extensively used and is great for seeking advice etc.

By the way, I am Great Cornard, Suffolk. Any other 8 owners in this part of the world?

If you are interested my blog is '1936 Morris 8 my first restoration' or something like that !

Looking forward to hearing more about your progress.
Bob
