Hi

Would anyone be interested in any Car wax if I was to start making some? I am tempted to try, but I don't want to be left with loads of it, most of our cars are oiled up, not polished! hahah

Cheers

Dave

Can you still get the GTX wax?. I used to like it as it might not get the best polish but stayed on for a long time.

I'm quite interested in this kind of stuff, have spent some time looking at various detailing sites, mainly for my everyday car rather than the Firenza, though I do have quite a few swirls on that now. Is there much to be gained from making your own, or is it mainly the challenge?

I have found that carnauba wax polishes are very much more effective than any other types. I don't know where you could buy the raw materials but definitely worth considering.

Hi

Still reading at the moment, I have the tins ready now too, and have some wax that has been filtered and cleaned too.

Mainly the challenge yeah, and nice to have another brand to add to the range, do Furniture Wax, Bees Wax, Lip Balms, Honey, and thinking Car Wax and Candles would be good.

All containing wax made by our little girls and other natural ingredients.

Cheers

Dave

Suffering froma gastro problem, I've just watched a chap on TV detailing top range cars. The Carnauba wax was £6,000 a kilo tub! Special shampoos, not a chamois in sight (special towels no less) an ultrasound meter to measure paint thickness, a mop, then a wax block to lift out any further imperfections and then the carnauba wax is put on by hand. I tried Googling his name, John Dalton, but came up empty. I was wondering just how much he charges, but it would be more than my car's worth I reckon!

Just remember - NO SILICONE otherwise you'll have a sod of a day trying to get fresh paint to lie flat. Sad
