Hello all, the rebuild on the austin is progressing nicely. i have the frame painted and parts are going back on finally, but i am in need of a few bits n pieces.
Right now i am looking for the little rubber boots that go over the rear brakes ( girling mechanical) could any one help me out with this?

It would perhaps help to know what year and model Austin!
Presumably you mean ones that fit on the back of the actuator to prevent water and dirt ingress along the brake rod?

Hi Jim, hmm i guess that would help Embarassed Its an Austin A40 Devon, I'm not certian the exact year, but i think its about 1949 or '50. you are correct, its the little rubber accordians that keep the dirt out of the rollers on the girling brakes.

It's well worth joining the Austin Counties Car Club. They have an excellent spares service.

Alternatively, you could try Earlpart, Speedy Spares or Collectors Car Spares. I'm sure one of them will have what you're looking for Smile
