My first thought was that it is a Mitsuoka Viewt
I hope the VW isn't another mini clone.

Image cropped from the edge of a dashcam photo, so it's probably just because of the lens (lack of) quality. The VW was a bit narrow in the photo, too, probably for the same reason. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Yes, if there was a narrow version I'm sure it wouldn't have oval headlamps.

A smart looking, white, Golf 1 Cabriolet in Darwen at midday.
It was carrying a G**DUE plate so obviously not it's original reg. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Keep in mind that the Mk1 shape continued in cabriolet form quite a long time after the hardtop transferred to the Mk2 body shape, up to 1993 according to one site I looked at just now. And also that registrations can't make the car look newer. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

I also saw a green sixties American car, but the dash cam decided not to bother recording it for some reason. And a V-suffix truck that I suspect was on the way back from Astle Park. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

No photograph on this one, unfortunately. Yesterday while Pat and I were out on errands a Hillman Minx Californian went past us, just like the one on the advert in primrose yellow with a black roof. It looked practically brand new.
In fact, on trying to find a representative example I found this picture of one at a show in Hellingly, East Sussex, which it probably is since that's not a massive distance from us.
