Thought that a thread for daily sitings might be an idea. We went down to Llangollen today to have a ride on the steam loco, that runs from there down to Carrog. We chose to start at Carrog, and spied a fine looking Series 1 Land Rover next to the car park.
Perhaps the chillier weather is putting people off using their classics? didn't see many on the roads, maybe tomorrow we'll see something!! did spy a couple of Mk1 Escorts, but not sure they count

I saw a very nice modern classic yesterday, in a multistory car park, a Vauxhall viva but never took a picture!
My dad said that he spotted a vintage rolls royce filling with fuel last weekend at the local super market, I asked him what it looked like and he said old! He is not really a car person.
The landy looks good, was someone driving it or was it just parked up? Did you get to speak to the owner?
Cheers

just parked up near the entrance to the carpark, with a few implements, like a display. Note the nettles around the back wheel

A cracking Mk2 Jag whizzed by the house today (dark green, wires, webasto roof), and some brave souls in an open top MGB roadster were spotted nr Nantwich. A few old motorcycles, and a convoy of old scooters, were seen on the Middlewich-Nantwich road too
Spotted the first signs of salty roads the other day, so seeing any classics in use will become a rarity for a while I think

I dispise gritters, why do they grit when it is cold but bone dry, it just isn't needed. I was coming through Nantwich last thursday night and a gritter had dumped a load of grit on the roundabout, all up the road and most of the way around town, but it was so thick it was making the mini bump around like it was riding on cobbles.
Cheers

Yesterday I heard the sound of V8 and looked around to see what kind of Mustang or Camaro it was attached to. Neither. It was an Iso Grifo. Amazing car, the first time I've seen one "live" as opposed to in a book.. |

Went to pick up a replacement daily car this week (a V70 Volvo), and lo! but what do we spy in a garage across the road from the Volvo's owner, but a Lancia Appia, just back from a jolly to Italy so the owner's dad said.
Followed a tidy TR7 today, not seen one on the road for a while.

Out and about yesterday, I only got to the main road, and there going by was a 1934 Austin 7. Great to see a prewar car in everyday use in November
Also, saw in a drive one of the original Cavaliers, haven't seen one of those in years. It just made me realise how rare anything ordinary from the late 70s is now, other than Marinas and Allegros. |

Saw a smart looking late-50s Hillman Minx (with exterior sunvisor) yesterday, and a Mk1 Astra in a muddy brown/orange colour (not exciting but fairly rare in good nick I spose).
Er indoors was trying to describe a Mercedes that she saw batting along our road a few days ago, she started off describing it as a Gullwing Mercedes (there is one tucked away locally), but also thought it may be a pagoda-roof SL, but either way pretty tasty
In the last week I also spotted a 70s Alfa Romeo Spider in Yorkshire, a Volvo 120 looking semi-derelict outside a house in Cardiff
cheers

A week or so back we were driving er indoors' MX5 on a quiet lane, and hammering towards us was an enormous 20s tourer, must have been doing a good 60+ with the driver perched high up and hanging on as best he could. I think it might have been a Willys Overland, but I didn't have long to get a proper look at the grille badge!! will have to check my Audlem show photos, as I think I saw this car at that event
