First post and a lot of questions I would like answers to.
I am stripping my Fibreline to get rid of rotton wood (from water ingress.) As far as I can see my Fibreline has a double skinned roof and water is getting into this void via the skylight and going to the edges where the double skin ends and leaking out into the woodwork via screw holes. Is this a reasonable explanation?
It would appear that the screws holding the ecterior trim to the 'van are hardened. Drills (sharp) do not appear to make much of an effect when I am trying to take their heads off to release this trim. In places I have managed to lever the trim from the body, pulling the remnants of the screw out, without too much damage. They are crossheads and will not undo, mainly because the threaded end is heavily corroded from the water ingress. Anyone got other ideas how to get these screws out?
Last part of this crop of questions; the existing wood frame is what appears to be pine and soft. Should I use pine to replace this wood? |

seems we are in simillar position. Your info regarding water getting in double skin roof seems logical. I have same rot issues. Maybe we could pass info back and forth as we go. May make each others project a little less painfull.

| We found that the wood on our fibreline had rotted below the high level air vent on the right hand side were water had come in and run down behind the wallboard. Have seen a few fitted with covers over the vents that allow air in but keep the rain out. Also had to repair the wood below the front window as the rubber seal had perished. |
