Evening all,

Does anyone here collect O gauge railway items?

As a child dad had a full setup in the loft of their grand home, I still have the remains of old carriages, signals and so on in the cellar somewhere. He has one Bassett Lowke engine still, but it needs re-painting and hasn't run for decades.

I bought an old toy aeroplane yesterday, and with it is an O gauge Hornby 501 locomotive, the clockwork motor works great and the paintwork is 95%+ good. It's got me wondering about accumulating some track and a few good carriages etc. with a view to creating an O gauge layout.

I think I'll keep my eye open for some track and take things from there, I'll also dig out the old stuff from the cellar and see if any of it is usable or not.

Hi
0 Gauge clockwork could be suitable for a refreshment supply from kitchen to garage.

Hmmmm good idea. That stainless steel track is nifty isn't it - I'd have to upgrade my ideas from clockwork to electric if that idea was to work though, I'd hate my brew to get cold if it ran out of puff mid-way to the garage :-/

I'm working on a new O-gauge 5'x15' layout using Lionel Fastrack.
Two mainlines and a second level dogbone.
Using both remote and manual switches, 9 total.
Will be able to run 4 trains plus trolley.
Most of what I have is newer but do have a few older items.
My Dad has a huge collection of pre-war Lionel to the current items.
I also have HO scale trains from the 60's on up.
