I re-sprayed my car about 20 years ago with (I think) ICI cellulose. I simply chose the two colors of green from a chart they showed me in the shop. I guess that is was a British Standard colour but it might have been RAL. I am now looking to touch in a few chips.

I have used a chart from the internet and thought I got quite an accurate match even though I knew the limitations but I was wrong. Does anyone know a way to get hold of a printed chart without shelling out between £15 and £40 for the privilege.

Most paint suppliers have paint cards. Just take a sample of your paint along or the car and they should be able to match it. I know Dingbro does it. Where is their nearest branch to you.

That's a good idea Larry. I should just do that but I am shy of taking the p*** of them as I would want to buy a tiny tin of cellulose. I don't think places like that can do it any more and I can get 250ml off the internet for about a fiver which is about 240 ml more than I need in any case. I might just be cheeky though and give it a try.

If you only want a small amount, most paint supplies will mix up a touch up kit or will make an aerosol with the colour matched to a sample.
