Today saw the annual Betws y Coed classic car show and the one car that took my eye among the many fine entrants was this beautiful Wolseley 1500.

Have a look at these few photos and I will tell you more about the car afterwards.

The Wolseley is owned by a Mr Hughes who lives in a village near Caernarfon and he has owned the car for four years. He completely dismantled it on purchase and rebuilt it to the amazing standard you can see in these photos.

It is without doubt the closest I have seen to a showroom fresh example.
The mileage you see on the odometer is genuine with everything new, restored or rebuilt. The colour, he informed me is Storm Grey and it is one of the "fleetline" models being a single colour. The "family" versions were two tone.

The equally pristine Morris Minor to the Wolseley's offside belongs to Mr Hughes' son .
There was one other Wolseley 1500 in the show and here it is :

That really is something isn't it - surely one of BMC's most underrated cars? The one dad had a couple of years back was a lot of fun to drive.

I love the detail applied under the hood. It's nice to see her all painted and clean.

Smashing engine bay. Odd battery connections and should the fuse box not have a cover. Lovely cars though.

Good to see that the radiator header tank is black, and not polished to brassy perfection Smile

Its a matter of taste, I like them in polished brass!!
I like them too painted black but I think if you have a bling engine bay it looks nicer polished whilst in a standard bay it'll look more at home painted black!!
