Tatton Park was reasonable, though there were quite a few empty plots in both the car club displays and, more so, the autojumble. I hope the new owners can reverse this trend as it seems to have got progressively less "great" since they took over. Maybe Covid and the proliferation of Sunday morning meetings isn't helping.
This Sunday there's a morning meeting at the Cholmondeley Arms, and on Monday I'm taking the car to a thing at Apedale Valley Light Railway, strictly speaking just over the border into Staffordshire. A chap in our club had applied but now has to go away for work, so I'm going in his place.
Again in Staffordshire, Eccleshall Show is on September 2nd, but if you want to display a vehicle, applications have to be in by this Friday, August 25th. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

The Cholmondeley Arms meeting wasn't as busy as the last one I attended, but the weather wasn't promising although we only had a couple of showers. Apedale Valley railway was very well-attended with classics (and some more modern cars) and exhibitors had a chance to have a run on the railway which is currently quite short (around 500m) but they have plans to extend further around the park.
This Sunday there are meetings at the Old Piggery cafe on the Nantwich to Whitchurch road, and the rescheduled meeting at the Royal Oak in fairly nearby Worleston. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Just over border this Sunday is a Classic Car and Motorcycle show at Bodelwyddan Castle. I've never been, does anyone know if its worth the trip? _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back! |

I thought the shows were now at Bodrhyddan Hall rather than Bodelwyddan Castle? They're not far apart, as I recall it.
I've never been to Bodrhyddan Hall, but I did enjoy a few shows at Bodelwyddan Castle when they used to be there. It's a nice place to look around, but of course like most castles, it doesn't change a lot so once you've been a few times it's a bit repetitive. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

I stand corrected

I am confused as the link includes a reference to Capesthorne Hall in May, and indeed if you click on the 'About this show' link, it takes you to details of an entirely other show!!! _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back! |

I went to the meeting at Crewe Heritage Centre this morning, not many cars there but the weather forecast was awful to start with - the rain didn't actually arrive until nearer 1pm, I had the car back in the shed by then.
Other possibilities for lack of attendance were shows at Betley (which I believe is largely more modern performance cars), and the nearby Malpas Yesteryear Rally. I had a look around Malpas yesterday afternoon, seemed to be as busy as usual but a bit hot. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Went to Bodrhyddan Hall, very thin turnout I thought. Not helped by the field being set out in a way that suggested expectation of a much higher attendance. _________________ "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back! |

The meeting is on at The Old Piggery Cafe (on the Nantwich to Whitchurch Road) this Sunday, though the weather forecast isn't encouraging at the moment. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |
