This event was cancelled due to weather, and it's been re-scheduled for this coming Sunday Feb 16th apparently. |
Might see about popping over then, assuming we're not in the middle of a "named" storm again

Not really a show, but the "Flying Scotsman" Enduro Rally is scheduled to be coming through Aston and Marbury on Friday April 3rd. The entry list sounds interesting, ranging from a 1922 Bentley to a 1949 MG TC. |

They did post a justification of why it's gone from £2 to £5, which didn't seem that unreasonable (the "included" two admission tickets at £1 each, and the other £1 down to Covid-related extra costs). Still doesn't talk about what the initial £2 was for (which is presumably profit, and perfectly fair, so I don't know why they don't just say so), and it's a bit unfair on people who are on their own in the car. I've paid more to get in places, but I probably won't be at this one.
I can't really get my head around doing shows at the moment, though I'm hoping to try it out at Oulton on August 2nd for the re-arranged British GT racing. |

I didn't get to Oulton for various reasons - club displays were cancelled in any case, but I had other things on. In theory I should be at the Gold Cup on bank holiday weekend, and at Cholmondeley Castle later in September. |

I didn't make it to the Gold Cup, though other club members tell me that the club display areas are there as normal.
An email from Classicshows the other day suggests that Cholmondeley Castle might be a problem for September 20th, and talks about potentially finding other venues, not in Cheshire, for the show. |

It now seems that the event at Cholmondely Castle will not go ahead, and the proposed alternative venue at Weston Park will also not be possible. This was for September 20th - unless I've missed an email they haven't specifically said that CC is not on, but as it's now only a week away, it's probably safe to presume that.
That was to be my last show of the year, with the exception of the NEC show if that goes ahead in any usable form. |

Hopefully the start of the light at the end of the tunnel, I've got a display spot booked for the Gold Cup at Oulton Park on August Bank Holiday. There's also the vintage festival in July, and the British GTs in September, which are two that I normally try to do. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Gawsworth Hall are running their "Young Timer" show on the late May Bank Holiday. I'm thinking about putting in for that, as a tentative first step out with the car. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Not quite in Cheshire, but there's a car show at Weston Park this Sunday, 11th July. Exhibitors can just turn up without pre-booking and pay on the door, but visitors need to buy advance tickets.
There's also Cheshire Steam Fair at Daresbury (I think that one is in Cheshire...), it's limited capacity so you have to buy entry tickets in advance. _________________ 1976 Vauxhall HP Firenza, 1976 Vauxhall Sportshatch (x2), 1986 Audi coupe quattro, 2000 Audi TT |

Sorry, but I will not pay to put my car on display and let other paying visitors look at it. I took a stand on this a while back, and only recently yet another charity rally contacted me. In brief, 100 miles to get to the start, £50 entry plus a further gift to the charity, no breakfast or lunch (bring your own), 125 mile rally, then the 100 mile trip home. I'm afraid that things are getting out of hand now, and £300 to tootle round a few country roads and view a chateau no longer float my boat. Anyway, I am getting too old for the XKSS so it will be sold next year. A bit of buffing up to do first, some spraying in, and goodbye. |
