|
Hi
I have just posted this on another forum I am on, and thought it would apply here too!
I think we should have a thread about our Sheds, Workshops and Gargaes, pictures of them, and information on how they are laid out, what is in them etc. I love rooting in someones workshop, so having a look at each others paradise on here would be really interesting!
After all this is where alot of us spend alot of our time, I know I do!!
Cheers
Dave
P.S... I will try to get some photos in the next few days! |

Good idea Buzzy.
I wonder if we can get some tips as to the important things in our sheds, such as favourite curtains, beer and so on....

Flashback to 2001, and we're still at our first house. We had this 3 car wide 'double' garage built while we were there..
The A30 belonged to erindoors, and was sold on eBay,
to a new home .... in Atlanta, Georgia! the new owner shipped
it over there, and it now shares a garage in the sunshine with
an E Type roadster
Just visible on the left is the family-owned-from-new A40 Mk1.
In the corner of the garden I put up this monstrosity to
house the overspill:
The idea was that if I lost storage for the Dodge, I could at a pinch modify this and put it in there. As it happens I never needed to, so smaller stuff took up root in there instead. Visible are the following:
- early Mk2 A40, offered to me by someone local for a sum I couldn't refuse, not sure where that one went to in the end
- on the right, the Ashley 1172 I once owned (last heard of in Germany)
- and in the far left corner, the pickup that buzzy is now fettling up
That building started out twice that height, but it was visible from the far
end of the road so next morning I lowered it somewhat

Hi
Ha, great pics, especially my pickup!
Perhaps I should change the title," 'and garages we have left behind!"
Cheers

Garages and sheds have always been a subject close to my heart; the words, “a man cannot live with one shed alone” spring to mind.
Over the last ten years I have been downsizing on houses and upsizing on garages and sheds. Starting with a seven-bedroom house and a very small, rickety, garage. Then moving to a three bed-roomed house with a reasonable garage, and two-car carport.
And finally 5 years ago, my retirement dream: a tiny two bed-roomed bungalow with room to build a four, (small) car garage and workshop, and two rickety sheds.
Unfortunately I had to spend a lot of time and money extending and modernizing the bungalow.
Here is a photo of the garage when we move in, couldn't even open the doors.

What do you do with all of the sections from a prefab' garage? Build a shed from them of course! (The Memsahib has tried to disguse it as a bush)

Will post the inside chaos later.

Hi
Great pics pigtin, look forward to the inside!
I will get some pics of my chaotic garage soon, only it will have to be a picture from outside looking in, as I can't justify the time to make a path, just to take a photo! hehe
Cheers

Rick, I think I did post it some months ago, it's none other than the eponymous "Pigtin". I built it using a 1937 Austin seven chassis, steering etc and Reliant engine and gearbox, (hence the name 'Pigtin').
The picture is taken about a month after it was completed; on the 750 club's 'Windmill run" in 1999. The photo shows the Memsahib, and myself 'triumphally' entering the Dutch town of Goes, closely followed by a Bugatti.
As you can see by the carnival atmosphere the Dutch really like their old cars.
Sorry for moving off-subject a bit.

That's great, love all the old boxes and tins, it really makes for a great atmosphere to work in.
What's the car behind the Devon, looks like a Yank, but too small?
