				| Is rubbing down compound still available?. I want to take all the old polish off my Rover and get some sort of shine on some uneven paint after flatting it off with 1000 grit but I can't find the stuff anywhere. It isn't the EU have banned it because people keep sniffing it or it's bad for the polar bears is it?. _________________

				| Seems it's still about.

				| There is loads of it
Fareclca G3 is the general one for compounding and removing scratches, they do a G10 which is much finer. Upol do a similar range.

You can get them in any paint shop in paste or liquid form

				| 1000 grade paper will remove more than you require, best try and get hold of some 3000 grade for the job _________________

				| For this sort of job I usually use 2500 grit with water and liquid soap and then a good going over with farecla G3 then autoglym and then a wax!! Its quite hard work doing all of it by hand though, but the end result is always satisfying!

				| I went to an auction the other day and managed to buy a box full of tubes of rubbing down compound (Car plan). There are a few micro blisters on the resprayed area on the boot and it seemed to give a decent shine to the paint left behind after a session with come 2000 grit paper. Does anyone know of someone who does factory matched cellulose by Mail?. I had some Rover Burnt grey but the colour match is poor and I'm sure there are other places that do it.
