Hi,
I'm looking for any information on 500cc Excelsior J.A.P machines. In particular 1932 Senior TT machines.
I have this bike, with a works experimental frame number and a 1931 JOR racing engine .
I have only found one picture (below) with my frame configuration and think my bike may be the one that Syd Crabtree rode.

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have the rear frame, when I got the bike in Apr 06 it had the rear from a Triumph crudely brazed on.
Since acquiring the bike I have been collectng any Excelsior info or pics that I could lay my hands on. I have pictures of 1931,32,33 and 34 Senior TT bikes,B14,C14 and Manxman. Only one pic shows my frame configuration which is the bike Syd Crabtree rode in 1932.

| Hi DM, looks like a Manxman frame with a 490cc engine. Unusual to put the gearbox behind the rear down tube. |

Hi Nic,
I'm told that a 1935/36 Manxman frame is very similar to what I need, the main difference being that the top rail tubes are longer.
I would love to get hold of drawings for the manxman frame, or pick up a frame I could copy the lugs from.
Here's a pic of the rear section of a 1933 C14 which again is very similar.

Hi DM, I found this photo of a Manxman. I think the forks are from a 250 as the 500 forks are a lot heavier. Hope this of some use to you.

I was short of space so the project stalled for a while as my tools were in storage while I built myself a new garage, but I have been collecting more info on Excelsiors.
Now it's stalled while I do some building work to the house.
Yes I saw the other Excelsior pic, and posted that it looked to be a B14. |

Called in there and spoke to Ewan Cameron last year, so will have to speak to him again re parts for the engine.
Meanwhile I am getting the front frame and Webb racing forks completely re-tubed. |
