This is on the main site, but thought it'd fit in here too - a tandem PF, bet this was easy to fall off!

Hi

I have seen literature on them, was tempted, to make one at one point, but could find no one to ride it with me, so ahve passed that one by, maybe in the future!

Thanks for the pic though, is there any other stuff like that on ordinaries etc, on your main site?

Cheers

Dave

Looks difficult for the guy at the front to dismount...could be hard on his 'nads.
But seriously; how did they get on and off? must have involved a great deal of painful practice. Shocked

Hi

I think the guy at the back has a step like an Ordinary (Penny Farthing), and the guy at the front would mount and dismount by scooting on the pedal, and timing it right to shift his weight onto the pedal and follow it up throwing your leg accross. I have never mastered this as my hub is not the strongest, but when I get the original I may have a go.

Maybe the back man did the same mounting procedure but from the other side to ballance it. hehe

Looks fun to me, any volunteers? hehe Laughing Both Rick and Pigtin seem to be showing interest! hehe Laughing Wink

Cheers

Dave

They would have to be very close in weight though, couldn't have a 10 stoner one side and a 14 stoner the other side. Laughing

You'ld have to call it a "tupenny" , penny farthing doesn't fit.

Hi

I had a go in August in a high end racing type trike, hell, they are weird, after riding a bike, you can't lean, and have to turn the handle bars, goes totally against the grain. I did like the Recuberant I had a go on though!

Cheers

Yes, it's a weird experience. You just can't bring yourself to ignore balance.
I remember being given a shot of a friend's motorcycle combination and it took enormous will power to avoid just going round in circles. Sad
