Hello all,
newbie to the forum, thought I would show why I had joined. I picked up a Viking Fibreline the other day. Never really been a fan of caravans however my wife was. We ended up being gifted a small two birth by a friend only to find out it was a bit more rotten than first thought. I decided that it would cost too much to rectify so it went to great big caravan yard in the sky!
Just as luck would have it, somebody was selling a Viking Fibreline about 5 miles from us, so we went to have a look and fell in love. The older caravans are more in keeping with us TBH and we both love it .

Anyway less of my waffle, pictures of the van!

Well that's what we've got so far, we're both happy and will make a nice project! (yet another project to keep me away from finishing off the 109!)

I don't know if anybody can help me out, but these are missing or broken:

Hi Stuey - looks like a great find.

You can get a replacement lens or whole light unit from www.caravanparts.co.uk , they also have number plate lights but I am not sure they are exactly the same shape as yours.

I had a 2 berth Fibreline a few years ago. They are great caravans. Mine was like yours with the thick cushions. They were that comfortable I didnt want to get up in the morning. Hope you enjoy your Fibreline..........Larry.

hi mate the light fittings you require are still available but hard to find you need the one's without the clear section for numberplates
try trailer people
the number plate light is also available in caravan parts shops or ebay

both fittings were common on 60'and 70s caravans

if you have problems message me and i will find them for you

We got round to using it the weekend just gone, we've found out that it's a tad damp in places and some of the wood has disappeared in places, but all in all we are happy with it.

Didn't use any of the gas appliances as we have no confidence in any of it yet, also lacking is 240v. So might get that sorted in the not too distant future.

Pretty much got the winter to sort things out with it, oh and I have shredded all the curtains by washing them And I've just ruined the washing machine, so that sees me being a washing machine repair man this weekend

It will probably have all the usual rot areas but quite a straightforward job. Time consuming. Your Lightweight looks to be a series 3. Anything Mini-Clubman estate must be a bit rare these days. My Dad had a Mini Countryman with wood sides. Should have kept it but it was really rusty. Never heard of Searle until now.

I drove this from Cambridge to Harwich and then Hook of Holland to Sweden a few years ago. Backside is still sore

I like that Lightweight, very nice!

Anyway back to the subject, my van never came with any keys. after attempting to replace the lock, I realised that the lock could not be replaced by such minions as myself (unless I stand corrected).

I removed the lock and took it to my local locksmith, 1 week later and £15 lighter I now have 2 x keys The brucey bonus is that the keys work in both locks too!
