Well it's 40c (about 104 in Farenheit) and it is times like this that a young mans thoughts turn to... an electric water-pump for my 46 Morris 8 Ser E
Hard getting one in 6v but I have just been advised that a 12v one is fine, will still boost the circulation in the old side-valve significantly. Located a supplier and put the order in as soon as I got home from the 3 hour drive along Mornington Peninsula. My car is fine when moving but, in heavy traffic or stuck at the lights, it starts to overheat. I'll let folks know how effective it is when the days get to 40-45c (104-114F) in another week.

Lovely car Ian, I can only imagine temperatures like that.......we're scraping ice from windscreens here! ....it's ffffffreezing
Good luck with the pump, it'll be interesting to see how it performs.
All the best,
Greg |

Yes a nice car Ian. I never experienced overheating problems in mine even when the temperature was over 100, but there were a few less traffic lights where I drove in the mid 1960's-
BTW I am not too far away from you, near Leongatha.

Lucky you Greg, scraping ice sounds like Heaven to me. We've just had a change come through and the temp has dropped 20c so it is all good now, will get some sleep tonight.
Hey Dane, that long dirt road reminds me of Manna Hill, just over the border into the Territory. I've done a lot of grading up in that area over the years, bulldozing too. That Tourer looks pretty good, as does the Rover. Are you in any Car Clubs? I'm in the "Morris Car Club of Victoria". Yep, Leongatha isn't too far from here, only a hundred k's, 'bout an hour and a quarter hey.
Kerbside Trafficator stopped working today, must work on that on Sunday. After 66 years "Laury the Morry" is getting a bit ricketty and cranky as he reaches middle age.
