Hello all,
A friend on another forum is looking to help identify the caravan in this shot. Is anyone able to have a go?
I immediately thought "Eccles" but don't really know why (probably the lack of lantern roof made me think it was a more "entry level" make), but it is obviously quite a large model judging by the towcar so it's possible the model wouldn't be hard to work out if the make was positively ID'ed. Any thoughts gratefully recieved.
It's all gut-feelingon my part, because, as a 60's model myself, that's the decade I tend to be more comfortable with. Even though a Berkeley Cavalier is my utopian classic van |

Don't think that flat roof panel is Eccles.
I'd go for a home-build, quite common in the fifties and sixties. |

Home builds tended to be a bit more "angular" though didn't they? The shape of this seems to be typical of 1930's vans (is there a name for it, "teapot" perhaps? ) so maybe as Knowsley suggests a Dovedale shell at least?

Knowsley, I'd love to hear your thinking on this one, as you've got a much better track record than my "gut"! |

Hi
What about the other ID, is it a Princess or a Sheerline? _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

That is a good point, I'm 99 % it's a Sheerline but didn't volunteer the info as I was in enough trouble on the 'van. |

The car is a Sheerline. The Princess had a much more "flowing" body style.
I'd like it though! |
