Following the success of my last post on a similar subject, here's the inner gatefold of another very rare LP from 1971 called Tonton Macoute. Highly collectable and expensive again, but I'm sure of interest to this forum for the picture. This is when scrappys were scrappys!
I can magnify any section substantially if required, just say the word...

Thanks for posting
Top row, from left: Sit-up-and-beg Ford Popular, Standard 8, A40 Farina, A60 Cambridge, Standard Pennant, and under the Pennant is a split screen Minor.
Middle row, from left: Wolseley 4/44, Daimler Conquest/Lanchester 14, MK2 Ford Consul (lowline I think) and the car to the right of the Consul is a Simca Aronde I think?
Bottom row: Another 103E Popular, another 4/44 or Magnette, not sure, 100E maybe?, another Minor.
Extreme bottom left: HA Viva van with windows or Bedford Beagle, MK1 Consul/Zephry/Zodiac.
Still a few mystery ones though _________________ Richard Hughes |

I see extreme bottom left as a Hillman Minx Estate nest to a MK 1 Zephyr or Zodiac. What looks like the very same Minx Estate is back upper right but facing the other way (When was Photoshop invented?)
The little commercial under the Consul has my attention, 'specially the way the n/s front door has folded back onto the wing. At first I thought AC Invacar but perhaps it's nearer to Reliant origins. |

| No cars left to identify, but isn't Tonton Macoute something to do with Voodoo in Haiti? |

| Second glancing the green car next to the Lanchester, could it be an MO rather than a Minor? What about that teasing tailpiece above the pair of them? |

I don't know what it is but I don't think anyone has mentioned the vehicle in the foreground with bald front and town & country rear tyres.
It has IFS and monocoque construction, I think.

Thanks guys - this sleeve has always been of great interest to me. Reckon I could spend an entire vacation at this site if I could go back....
From Wikipedia: Tonton Macoute was a Haitian paramilitary force!
The music is progressive Jazz rock out of interest - I like it, but that's by the by. You should see the front cover - avant garde would be the best way of putting it - no cars though!
With some difficulty I've scanned the sleeve in 4 parts. They obviously didn't design modern printers with LPs in mind!
Here they are for closer viewing. I'd be interested if anyone can ID that car with twin shockers above the Burgundy one - a quarter of the underside is not much to go on though!

| Thanks for the definition of Tonton Macuote. I have just realised where I have heard of it before. Before they started making James Bond films I read all the books. It is mentioned in one of those. |

Chris, that's the 'tailpiece' I was referring to.
Perhaps not much help but I think it's foreign and rear engined. Can't tink of anything British with twin telescopics at the back.
Your enlargement has highlighted a white A40 though. The more you look the more cars you see! |

From the angle of the brake drum I think it's actually the front. There is also what looks like a radiator aperture. This would suggest fore and aft arrangement and rear wheel drive. I do agree that it's probably foreign.

Thanks again all,
The only Brit car I know of with twin rear shocks each side is the E-type and some other Jags using that famous rear set up. Its definately not that though!
Just for your info, "Keef" or Marcus Keef was a photographer for many albums of the late 60's/early 70's. Many are classics and highly unusual.
Here's a link for any that are interested. I own many of these albums and you will find Tonton Macoute's front cover on the page.

You could be right there Peter. 5 wheel studs and 2 shocks could make it a chunky old beast though.
Just noticed an FA Victor suddenly materialising behind the mystery car! |
