CHOLMONDELEY ESTATE CHOSEN FOR CHRIS EVANS' CARFEST NORTH

The Cholmondeley Estate, set in the heart of Cheshire, has been selected by BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans as the venue for CarFest North. The decision, announced this morning on Chris Evans' Breakfast Show, builds on the estate's strong connections with motor sports and provides the ideal setting for the "perfect family festival".

CarFest North is raising money for BBC Children in Need (registered charity number 802052 England & Wales, SC039557 Scotland) and will take place over the weekend 8th, 9th September. It will feature a large collection of modern and classic supercars, top-quality bands - with Texas headlining on Saturday and Razorlight on Sunday - as well as a food festival and fun for all the family.

CarFest North will be the second large motoring extravaganza to take place in the grounds of the Cholmondeley Castle this year - the first being the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power which runs from the 15-17 June.

"When Chris mentioned plans for CarFest North on his Breakfast Show, I knew we had to show him what Cholmondeley had to offer," said James Hall, Director of the Pageant and Cholmondeley Estate Manager. "Being chosen to host CarFest North is just fantastic and cements our reputation as the home of high-octane action in the North of England".

Chris Evans, host of BBC Radio 2's Breakfast Show and brains behind the CarFest concept adds; "We checked out a number of amazing venues in the north but feel that Cholmondeley ticks all the right boxes. Not only is it a well known venue for petrol heads but the setting is just beautiful and provides the ideal backdrop for the fantastic family focussed weekend we are pulling together."

CHRIS EVANS REVS UP FOR CARFEST
Family festival for car lovers, the brainchild of BBC Radio 2 DJ
Hundreds of modern supercars plus legendary classics
Top motor sport winners from F1 to Le Mans
Mega festival fun for all ages
With just weeks to go, the final preparations for the eagerly anticipated CarFest South and CarFest North are taking place.

The two CarFest weekends – to be staged at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire (25-26 August) and Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire (8-9 September) – are the living reality of a dream conjured up by media personality Chris Evans. His vision was to host his very own perfect ‘family festival’ brimming with all the things he loves – great cars, food and music – and at the same time raise vital funds for BBC Children in Need.

The story goes that having given up bread for Lent, Evans invented CarFest to keep himself away from the bread bin!

With the seed sown, he announced the first CarFest to his millions of early morning listeners to his breakfast show on BBC Radio 2. Though preliminary details were somewhat slight beyond some jaw-dropping cars, mouth-watering food and foot-tapping live music, the concept was an immediate success with all 20,000 tickets to the Laverstoke Park Farm event selling out within minutes of being put on sale.

Fuelled by this instant sell-out and also to satify the obvious demand from all over the country, Evans announced a second CarFest to be held a fortnight later at Cholmondeley Castle. Once again all 20,000 tickets were snapped up within hours of the box office opening, though a recent licence extension has now made a few more tickets available.

“It’s getting quite scary,” admitted Evans. “I had this crazy CarFest idea back in March and since then everything has gone completely bonkers. We’ve sold thousands and thousands of tickets, launched a second event in the north, been overwhelmed with offers for super-duper cars, some of my favourite live bands plus fabulous food and now the clocks are ticking down. Boy, from a personal and selfish point of view, this really is going to be good. It’s my kind of festival – I’m just hoping everyone else agrees with me, the sun shines and that we raise humongous amounts of money for BBC Children in Need as, after all, that’s what all this fantastic fun is really all about.”

Both Laverstoke Park Farm and Cholmondeley Castle already have strong automotive links. The former is renowned for its organic food and is owned by 1979 F1 World Champion Jody Scheckter while the latter is famous in motoring circles as the glorious setting of the annual Pageant of Power. Now their respective reputations will be furthered as the country’s first two venues to host one of Evans’ dazzling CarFests.

In just four months, the DJ’s fantasy has been transformed into two living extravaganzas boasting stunning displays of contemporary and classic cars for visitors to admire, live music from top bands to dance to, superb food to savour plus a wide selection of camping and ‘glamping’ options as well as lots of other activities to entertain everyone around the two CarFest festival sites.

Here’s the full lowdown…

GLITTERING CAR DISPLAYS
Living up to its title, a spectacular array of cars is right at the heart of both CarFest events. And that’s no surprise as Chris Evans is a confirmed fan of fast cars and owns one of the world’s finest collections of Ferraris.

Taking its lead from Evans’ established ‘Magnificent Seven’ drive and dine extravaganza which allows members of the public to experience some of his fabulous Ferraris in exchange for major donations to BBC Children in Need, groups of invited cars will roar up the respective driveways of Laverstoke Park and Cholmondeley Castle in clusters of seven.

In all there are already a large number of confirmed Magnificent Seven categories of performing cars for festival-goers north and south to relish. They are:

Chris’ Magnificent Seven: Ferrari 275 GTB; Ferrari 288 GTO; Ferrari F40; Ferrari 512 Testarossa; Ferrari 599 SA Aperta; Ferrari FF and Ferrari 458 Spider.

European Supercars: Lamborghini Aventador; McLaren MP4-12C; Porsche Carrera GT; Aston Martin DBS; Mercedes SLS; Maserati MC Stradale; Ferrari 458 Spyder.

US Supercars: Shelby Mustang; Ford GT; Dodge Viper ACR; Chevrolet Corvette ZR1; Saleen S7 Twin Turbo and SSC Ultimate Aero.

Far East Supercars: Nissan GTR; Honda NSX; Mazda RX7; Nissan Skyline R35 GTR; Toyota Supra Twin Turbo; Lexus LF-A and Subaru Impreza R1.
Motorsport: Marussia F1 car; WRC car; BTCC car; Bowler Nemesis; Silk Cut Le Mans Jaguar; Pikes Peak Peugeot 405 T16 and Radical.

£1 Million or More: Aston Martin One-77; McLaren F1; Ferrari Enzo; Bugatti Veyron; Lamborghini Reventon; Pagani Zonda Cinque and Koenigsegg Agera R.

Group B Rally Cars: Audi Quattro S1 E2; Lancia Delta S4; MG Metro 6R4; Ford RS200; Peugeot 205 T16 E1; Renault 5 Maxi Turbo and Toyota Celica Turbo.

Historic F1: Williams-Renault FW18 (Damon Hill’s 1996 Championship winner); Benetton B192 (Michael Schumacher’s 1992 maiden grand prix winner); Lotus 101 (Nelson Piquet’s 1989 car); Lotus 72 (Emerson Fittipaldi’s 1972 Championship winner); Lotus 80 (Mario Andretti’s 1979 car); Brabham BT42 (Carlos Reutemann’s 1973 car); Brabham BT7 (Jack Brabham’s 1964 car) plus an ex-Jody Scheckter Ferrari.

Design Classics: Lamborghini Miura; Aston Martin DB4; Jaguar E-type; Mini Cooper S; Citroen DS; Mercedes SL Gullwing and Ford Mustang GT390 Fastback.

Gorgeous: Maserati MC-12; Ford GT40; Alfa Romeo 8C Cloverleaf; AC Cobra; Jaguar XJ220; Aston Martin V12 Zagato and Pagani Huaya.
Unusual: Superbike; Carver One; JCB Dragster; Sinclair C5; KTM X-Bow; Peel P50 and VW Beetle V8.

Adding to the strong automotive hub and keeping to the Magnificent Seven theme will be huge car galleries organised by car clubs and enthusiasts. The target is for seven static galleries, each including seven different marques displaying seven of their finest creations – that all adds up to an amazing showcase of no fewer than 343 of the world’s most exciting and intriguing cars.

Moreover for those inspired to join the growing classic car movement, lots of desirable and affordable models will be coming under the hammer at daily auctions run by Silverstone Auctions.

The magical mix of Magnificent Sevens produces a fantastic kaleidoscope of motoring and motor sport history… but that’s only the start of the mouth-watering CarFest feast which boasts many more tasty treats for all ages.

ENERGISING LIVE MUSIC
At the start of the CarFest project Evans said: “As twilight falls and the fat August sun slips behind a city of tents, it’s time to plug in the guitars. Rock ’n’ roll my friends – nothing too crazy, but top quality and a fun time for mums, dads and kids alike.”

As a result show-goers are encouraged to bring their dancing shoes, their air guitars and their fine voices and get ready to party on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. Chris Evans himself will host the stage, introduce the bands and will occasionally take the turntables for some good old-fashioned DJ action.

To get everyone in the right party mood, top tribute bands including the Counterfeit Stones, Ultimate Eagles and Bootleg Beatles kick off the live music action with Texas, Razorlight, The Magic Numbers and Merrymouth (featuring members of Ocean Colour Scene) heading the bill at both CarFest festivals. The Feeling join the Laverstoke line-up while Paloma Faith and The Proclaimers are on the Cholmondeley bill.

TRULY SCRUPTIOUS FOOD
CarFest sets out to be a gourmet’s delight with quality food for all tastes and ages.

More than just a CarFest venue, Laverstoke Park has an enviable reputation for its organic/biodynamic farm producing the best-tasting, healthiest food, without compromise… and those attending both CarFest South and CarFest North will be offered a wide range of Laverstoke’s finest from early morning breakfast with organic, nitrate-free, bacon rolls to a full supper at the end of each day.

Along a similar theme, a special Britain’s Best Pavilion will house the very finest food and drink that Britain has to offer as chosen by a panel of food experts. Products on offer include breads, cheeses, meats, cakes, jams and much more.

Adding a little more spice plus a slice of competition to the culinary content, 50 pie makers and 50 cake makers will go head-to-head in a unique Cakes vs Pies contest. Initial judging will take place on Saturday with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood selecting the ultimate champion on Sunday. With losing pies and cakes being made available for visitors to buy no one is going hungry!

GREAT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT
Adding to the festival atmosphere and guaranteeing fun for all the family, the two CarFest events offer a range of activities for all ages, from dare-devil displays to face painting.

Keeping the whole family entertained will be a wide variety of air displays, arena shows, kids zones and more. Those performing include the RAF Hot Air Balloons, Dancing JCB Diggers, Trailstar Motorcycle Trial Riders, Segway Racing, The Blades aerial display team, a firework display from Fuse Fireworks plus jousting from the The Knights of the Damned.

For the foodies Laverstoke Park Farm will be running a range of workshops including ice cream making, bread making, butter churning and biscuit decorating. It will also host a DIY BBQ Zone where visitors can cook food they’ve bought from around the show and get expert advice from staff.

CARRY ON CAMPING
With so much to experience, a large number of CarFest visitors have purchased full weekend tickets and are taking full advantage of the large number of camping options being offered at both events. These range from simple overnight tent pitches to luxurious pop-up hotels for those seeking the ultimate VIP experience.

BBC CHILDREN IN NEED
Right from the outset, Chris Evans knew that he wanted CarFest to raise vital funds for BBC Children in Need. A minimum of one third of the price of each ticket plus any further profits from the running of CarFest will benefit the charity.

LAST FEW TICKETS
A limited number of VIP tickets are still available for CarFest South while an extended licence has enabled the organisers to offer some additional day and weekend tickets for CarFest North. For more information visit: www.CarFest.org.

Anyone speed-reading that list of entries find themselves thinking "Maxi?" and then going back to read it properly?

I've had two different invites for car club stands, trouble is finding the magic seven cars to populate them.

The first CarFest seems to have gone well, and in a good cause too.

------------------------------

CHRIS EVANS HAILS 'BRILLIANT' CARFEST

- Radio DJ fronts up his dream festival
- New family festival given huge thumbs up by sell-out audience
- CarFest on track to raise more than £750,000 for BBC Children in Need
- Show now moves to Cholmondeley Castle for CarFest North

After all the expectation, planning and feverish preparations, Chris Evans’ eagerly anticipated CarFest South was universally hailed as a massive success.

Held over the August Bank Holiday weekend in the grounds of Laverstoke Park Farm, Overton, Hampshire – the organic/biodynamic farm founded by 1979 F1 Formula One World Champion Jody Scheckter – the inaugural CarFest lived up to all the hype, wowing a sell-out crowd of 20,000 festival-goers with two-days of fun-filled entertainment.

As Evans desired when first dreaming up his CarFest concept, the spectacular festival featured high-octane action from the amazing array of racing, classic and supercars, fabulous food plus live music from top bands all raising much-needed funds for BBC Children in Need appeal.

Incredibly Evans only dreamt up CarFest in March as his own personal interpretation of the perfect festival weekend. Now, in the space of just five months, the DJ’s fantasy has been turned into sparkling reality first with CarFest South and soon with CarFest North, a second festival featuring an almost identical line-up of dazzling entertainment to be held at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire on the weekend of 8-9 September.

“CarFest South done and dusted. And absolutely brilliant,” enthused a delighted Evans. “Does the organic grass of Laverstoke Park cope with torrential rain better than standard festival grass? It seems it might. After three brief but brutal weather fronts paid us a visit on Saturday, the grass soaked up any troublesome mud and the party continued. Historic fly-pasts overhead, aerobatic displays from The RN and The Blades and The RAF Red Arrows, more fab live music than might be good for one person and the thousands of kids present self-policing the event. It was awesome. Thank you to the local council, the local constabulary and all those wonderful Overtonians who came along and joined in the fun. And fun that thus far has raised at least £750k for BBC Children In Need. I say! We'll done everyone – now bring on CarFest North on the 8th and 9th of September.”

Scheckter was equally thrilled to see Laverstoke stage the very first of Evans’ special CarFests. He said: "We were delighted to host this very special event to raise funds for Children in Need. We have had overwhelming positive feedback from everyone who attended, the event was a huge success and it was a pleasure to host CarFest at Laverstoke Park Farm.”

On so many fronts CarFest exceeded all expectations as did the vast number of stand-out highlights. For the petrolheads there were incredible demonstration runs from past and present Formula One racers plus many of the world’s finest exotic supercars as well as memorable air displays from the RAF Red Arrows, the astonishing Vulcan bomber and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. All the drivers and marshals praised the friendliness of the paddock and hillclimb organisation as well as the incredible quality and desirability of the cars participating – all agreeing that CarFest has already become a ‘must-see’ fixture on the motoring and motor sport calendar.

Away from the iconic cars, the equally impressive array of live music performances headlined by The Feeling and Texas on Saturday and The Magic Numbers and Razorlight on Sunday was at the heart of the general entertainment, adding to the traditional festival atmosphere. Alongside the popular performing bands, a feast of non-stop family fun was on offer throughout the weekend ranging from JCB Dancing Diggers to a silent disco and ‘Cake versus Pie’ competitions.

As Evans had planned, the food on offer was of the highest quality with a wide range of foods from a variety of caterers. Adding to the show, Laverstoke Park Farm staff provided a wide range of food and cooking workshops from making bread or ice cream to butter churning.

As the inspiration behind CarFest, Evans had a major hands-on approach throughout the weekend, whether sharing his thoughts with festival goers, introducing bands and revving up the DJs on stage, drumming up business with Silverstone Auction, entertaining famous guests such as F1 star Mark Webber and his fellow presenters from his early morning radio show or driving around Laverstoke Park Farm in his own Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

With the dust barely settled in Hampshire, the great CarFest extravaganza now moves to Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire for CarFest North on 8-9 September. Despite selling out within hours of tickets going on-sale, an extended licence has enabled organisers to offer some additional day, weekend and VIP tickets. To buy tickets go to www.CarFest.org.

WORLD RALLY CHAMPION SET FOR CARFEST

Petter Solberg to wow crowds at Cholmondeley Castle
Ford rally star to top the action-packed bill
Additional tickets now on sale

Renowned rally star Petter Solberg is the latest champion to join the star-studded line-up at this weekend’s CarFest North (8-9 September) to be staged at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.

The 37-year-old Norwegian who won the World Rally Championship in 2003 and currently competes for the Ford World Rally Team, confirmed his participation on both Saturday and Sunday when chatting live on air to Evans on this morning’s Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.

“Just when you thought CarFest couldn’t get any more exciting, we’ve got Petter Solberg to top the bill. What a signing!” enthused Evans.

Solberg, who is gearing up for next week’s Wales Rally GB, vowed to put on some spectacular driving performances for the tens of thousands of festival goers at Cholmondeley. “I’m going to do what I do best,” he said. “Drive very, very fast, do lots of power slides and put on a proper show.” He also promised to take Evans for a spin in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC and to teach the car-mad broadcaster how to do the famed ‘Scandinavian flick’, the technique of sliding a car sideways around a corner as used by rally drivers. “It’s going to be a lot of fun,” admitted Solberg.

CarFest encapsulates Evans’ dream of the perfect family festival featuring three of his greatest passions – great cars, live music and scrumptious food – and simultaneously raising much needed funds for BBC Children in Need. The first event, CarFest South was held at Jody Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire over the August Bank Holiday weekend and was hailed as ‘a brilliant success’ by Evans. The mix of memorable high-octane action, breath-taking aerial displays and sparkling live sets by top bands as well as a whole host of other superb family entertainment enthralling all ages. And now the radio personality’s glittering festival is all set for a repeat performance, this time in the glorious grounds of Cholmondeley Castle… this time with the addition of some rally driving heroics from Solberg.

Although the original 20,000 tickets were an immediate sell-out, an extended licence has enabled organisers to offer some additional day, weekend and VIP tickets. A third of the ticket price goes to BBC Children in Need. Tickets are available online via www.CarFest.org until Friday morning and thereafter on the gate at Cholmondeley.

An interesting selection of cars in the paddock, some expensive stuff.

Any truth this is the originator of those stupid "eyelashes" people put on Nissan Micras and the like?

A conundrum, the paddock was closed for safety as soon as the cars started moving around, but they were wheelspinning this close to the people.

Ooh look, Hanomag

Interesting Alvis with Bentley badge:

Chris Williams' Napier Bentley water feature, stood near the paddock talking to Rick as he opened the radiator cap.

And the patented exhaust-driven toaster. The output from the lower pipes turns the drive which in turn rotates the bread for even toast. In my defence, at least the tyre is in focus.

The organiser

The Red Barrows, basically a group of blokes who do formation running around with wheelbarrows.

A few aircraft popped by as well

The Vulcan was most welcome, and set lots of car alarms off when he booted it over the car park

I think the bird is out of focus because it's just looked over and seen what's approaching. You can imagine, out for a nice quiet fly, dum-de-dum-de- what? Run for it!

We spent the Weekend over at the Malpas Steam rally, playing with our engines, Smile (Much Fun!) We got the best bits of Carfest for free, the aircraft, after appearing there it seemed they came over the Rally to loop round, we had a fabulous display. The Vulcan was overhead as we were all playing engines in the ring. Smile Excellent all in all!

CHRIS EVANS DOES IT AGAIN

DJ stages the second of his family festivals at Cholmondeley Castle
World Rally Champion wows 20,000 festival goers
BBC stars Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry judge ‘Cakes v Pies’ contest
CarFest on track to raise more than £800,000 for BBC Children in Need

The second of Chris Evans’ spectacular fund raising CarFest extravaganzas celebrating great cars, scrumptious food and rousing live music was another huge hit with more than 25,000 festival goers savouring two-days of dazzling entertainment in the sunshine at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.

Following fast in the wheeltracks of the inaugural CarFest held at Jody Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire over the August Holiday weekend, CarFest North (8-9 September) once again showcased the radio and TV personality’s three greatest passions with Evans himself right to the fore throughout the fun-filled weekend.

The action kicked off on both days with Evans opening the show from behind the wheel of his iconic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and concluded with him on the Main Stage revving up the crowds by introducing a series of chart-topping live bands on both Saturday and Sunday evenings as well as DJing between the acts.

Stars among the cars were Evans own ‘Magnificent Seven’ collection of Ferraris, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason in his own Ferrari 512S which starred alongside Steve McQueen in the Le Mans movie plus some incredible driving displays from 2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Once the dust settled on the track, music took centre stage with stirring live performances from bands including Texas, Paloma Faith, The Proclaimers, The Magic Numbers and Razorlight.

But while the mouth-watering groups of classic, competition and supercars parading on the hillclimb course and top class bands performing on the Main Stage were right at the heart of the event, CarFest North was very much a family festival with hundreds of different sideshows and displays to involve and entertain those of all ages.

The Main Arena hosted crowd-pleasing jousting displays plus the Dancing JCB Diggers as well as a host of whackier activities such as Welly Walling while the blue skies above Cholmondeley Castle witnessed a huge number of displays and fly-pasts featuring more than eight decades of aviation history. The amazing Vulcan bomber drew huge cheers from the crowds on the ground while other legendary aircraft such as the Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster bomber, Gloster Meteor plus a pair of RAF Tornados all had their own special admirers.

As wished by Evans, fabulous food was another major CarFest highlight with a veritable feast of culinary delights on offer throughout the festival from an amazing variety of enthusiastic caterers. Many of this country’s finest foods and drinks were on offer in the busy Britain’s Best Pavilion which also hosted the early rounds of the ‘Cakes v Pies’ competition. No fewer than 50 pie makers and 50 cake makers went head-to-head with the top 10 of each going through to Sunday’s grand final judged by Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood from the BBC’s Great British Bake Off on the Main Stage. And much to Evans’ obvious delight, pies were a clear winner in Cheshire!

“CarFest North and South have been a dream team of food, music, cars and fun. The jackpot has been the family atmosphere dictated by the children themselves,” enthused a delighted Evans as the curtain came down in Cheshire. “Happy smiling faces from dawn till dusk and beyond. Reminding us adults how to play! Both venues were fabulous and we thank our hosts very much, the Scheckters and the Cholmondeleys. Here's to next year and by the time we've counted all those CarFest pennies, Pudsey and BBC Children In Need should be very happy. Thank you again one and all.”

Lord Cholmondeley joined the thousands of party goers and clearly took much pleasure in hosting such an outstandingly friendly event. "It was both an honour and a delight for us to host CarFest North on behalf of Chris Evans here at Cholmondeley Castle,” he said. “CarFest was a truly wonderful weekend packed with first class family entertainment. Wherever you looked there were thousands of happy faces and it was particularly pleasing to see so many children of all ages really enjoying the estate. Through the annual Pageant of Power, Cholmondeley is already firmly established on the motor sport map; now the huge success of CarFest North has not only added another string to our bow but also enabled us to play our part in helping Chris to raise significant funds for BBC Children in Need."

It is estimated that this summer’s two CarFest events will raise more than £800,000 for BBC Children in Need and a final figure will be confirmed later this month.

The venue for CarFest North has finally been revealed by BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans – this will take place at Oulton Park Race Circuit in Cheshire from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 August 2013.

A former stately home, and 60 years old this year, Oulton Park’s combination of stunning scenery and spectacular racing make it one of the most picturesque and best loved circuits in the country. This new venue brings even more excitement to the experience of watching some of the world’s greatest cars – this time charging around a track – whilst offering some fantastic spaces for dancing to live music, chilling out in front of the Arena and having a fun, family weekend.

“We are extremely excited to have been chosen as the venue for CarFest North,” said Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of Oulton Park owners MotorSport Vision

(MSV). “The event allows us to show off our greatest features – a spectacular track and stunning scenery. We are certain that at Oulton Park, CarFest North will be even better than last year and help to raise even more money for BBC Children in Need.”

Conceived by Evans as his own perfect festival, CarFest was an amazing sell-out in 2012 – so amazing that a second event was invented to meet demand; and so CarFest South and North were born. The original two events raised a staggering £968,735 for BBC Children in Need.

As in 2012, CarFest South will take place at Laverstoke Park Farm – the home of former Formula 1 World Champion Jody Scheckter – from Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August. Visitors can expect to see some of the world's greatest cars performing on a longer and more exciting hill climb course plus three evenings of live music, fabulous festival food and an amazing range of fun and games for the whole family.

“We are absolutely delighted to be donating the farm as the venue again for CarFest South to support BBC Children in Need. We are hoping the event will raise even more in 2013. The whole weekend last year had a wonderful family atmosphere and was one of the great highlights of our year on the farm," said Scheckter.

With venues now confirmed, Evans is eager for the action to start. He said: “I can’t wait to spend the three days of CarFest North in the surroundings of one of the most respected race circuits in Europe, with such a depth of historical magic. Then two weeks later at Laverstoke Park Farm – what a summer!”

The first release of CarFest 2013 tickets for both venues will go on sale on Thursday 17 January at 8am via the BBC Children in Need website at www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey (http://e2.ma/click/msxfe/q3gdfd/2ssg9).
