In the early to mid sixties I played football in the Lanarkshire Amateur leagues. Then I discovered the opposite sex and that was it. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Played Footy for the school in the 50's, hate the game now.
Was always a runner, both track and cross country
Not the 'round a field' cross country they show on TV, hedges, gates, streams and mud were all part of the fun
Used to run for the Regiment in the 60's.
Also won a gold medal in Cross country skiing in the 60's.

| I was a member of Twickenham Athletic Club and competed at junior county level back in the distant past when distances were Imperial. Sprints were my speciality, anything up to 440 yards. I also played rugby for my school and college but a back injury stopped all that - or it might have been the women and beer, it's all so hazy... |

Whilst serving part of an apprenticeship I used to play snooker at lunch time in a really seedy snooker hall with water running down the walls. The gas fitters next door could be a bit wild but I can't remember ever getting chucked out.
I was completely useless as a snooker player. In fact I am completely useless at any sport (game) involving balls. (Take that any way you want! )
I swim quite well.

My Dad encouraged me to play all sorts of sports, Rugby, Cricket, Football ....although I wasn't great (any good!) at any of them it was a great way of teaching team building...something that has been useful in many other walks of life
Now I am a spectator and looking forward to the 6 Nations

I was always useless at ball games even now I can't catch. If I was at school now that would put me in a special needs class.
I did some cycle time trials. I still ride a bike now, great exercise and it keeps the weight off. I am less than half a stone heavier than I was when I was twenty, and that was a long time ago |

Well it's good to know I'm not alone then......
Absolutely useless at any sport, particularly when there's a ball involved.
Always a source of contention between me and my dad because he'd go and buy me the best of kit at the slightest suggestion of any sport being introduced at school. If only ebay had been around then!
Played a bit of golf in the past with thoughts of business & 'bonding!' Still have the clubs but the game is a good walk ruined IMHO. |

I did basketball and football at school, also sprints upto 200 meters!!
Nothing when I finished school though!!
Although I sometimes go for a ride on my bikes, for errands and the like!!
I like to go for long walks and during my lunch break at work I always go for a 40 minute fast walk!!
Helps to keep the weight down too!! |

I remember playing hockey once at a nearby girls school. They were really vicious, I think all of the boys team were limping by the end. We couldn't persuade them to play a return match of rugby - or swap shirts after the final whistle |
