Next door to the central fire station in Edinburgh there used to be an optician's shop with his name, Seymour, painted on his gable end.

I used to have a customer who traded as FMB Engineering...
He said it stood for F*** My ole Boots

I think he used to restore Austin Sevens. Ring any bells here?

There used to be a tool shop in NW London called Ivor tool.

When you phoned them, our reply to the answer was "realy so have I"

There used to be a shop neear Chessington called Chish and Fips and I know of an off licence called Brahms and Liszt which was nowhere near cockney land.

there is a 'sofa king' in northampton.... their slogan is

"where our prices are sofa king low"

always makes me smile but i believe the advertising authorities have been on to them to change it for years.
