Excellent programme with Patrick Stewart doing the "interviewing". Highly recommended.
Among other cars, he drives an Austin 7,

| It was superb, Patricks Stewart's enthusiasm and excitement at meeting one of his boyhood heros came through and both of them seemed to be enjoying each other's company. The best hour's viewing this Christmas. |

Watched the Moss programme last night. Well written, Beautifully produced,
totally free of production gimmicks..... I thought we'd forgotten how to do that sort of thing in this country!
Apparently it's Jackie Stewart tonight in our area. Looking forward to it. |

Very good television, I really enjoyed it. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

Yes, it was an interesting program. Quite funny seeing Moss and Patrick Stewart in the 300SL. Stewart wearing a full harness and Moss driving without seat belts (although well attached to his trousers with braces.) They then changed seats but this time both were securely attached with full harness!
I had always assumed Stirling and Pat had been associated with Moss Gears Ltd but now understand that their father was a dentist rather than an industrialist.

Jacky Stewart tonight if you can stand his awful voice!
I thought it was a great pity we couldn't hear the Vanwall and not stupid music and assenine comment. The BBC ruins so many programs by playing vile music over them IMO. |

Quite superb - I could feel the joy Patrick Stewart had being with one of his all time childhood heros.
Excellent production, well worth a repeat. |

One of, or perhaps THE best programmes I've ever watched!
The emotion was almost overwhelming.
Well done |

Nothing to worry about on that score, I'm sure.
I've also read there's a Colin McRae program, I think it's in Radio Times but it's not in the listings up to next Thursday. I only caught the last half of the Stirling Moss program, it was pretty good - I hadn't realised SM stopped racing so long ago but then my interest is a bit later, seventies on really. |

Do any of you remember a TV programme many years ago when Clive James was learning to drive, he was in his 50s at the time, and Stirling Moss was teaching him car control?
What I remember was Stirling Moss admitting that after that last fearsome accident, when he tried returning to racing and found on testing that he had lost that 1/4 of a second a lap and he then knew it was all over.
He announced his retirement soon afterwards.
The programme the other night was really good. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

Nothing wrong with his voice IMO, but I agree with your comment on the music. Ruined the whole Jacky Stewart program for me (as with lots of other programs) with music over people talking etc. I would have thought that anyone watching would have wanted to hear the engines, as with James Martins laps in Jackie's '73 Tyrell but it was ruined with music(& me shouting at the tele) They even do it on the news programs!!! | I could stand the music, it was James Martins mangling of the word 'formula' which drove me nuts. |
