It was a proper event then when you could use an ordinary car out of the show room, unlike nowadays when only the name comes from the showroom.

I went on to the BBC website to see the coverage of the rally leaving Glasgow and its my old pal Tommy Bryce who is featured with his 1926 Citroen. Tommy is well into his 80s and attends many rallies with his Citroen.
