I was pleased to see the documentary more or less matched the quality of the previous two in the mini series.
It seemed to tread the line between praising his skills, drive and achievements whilst giving enough of a rounded picture to allow us to put all of that in to context.
I hope that his family, his Dad in particular, feel very satisfied that he has been able to provide the guidance for such an enlightening epitaph for Colin. |

It hasn't aired over here yet. I always liked Colin, warts and all. Spent many hours tramping through cold, dark, wet forests to catch a glimpse of these gladiators hurtling past.
I guess Colin had always lived with one foot over the line, anything less would not have been Colin. |

Finally got to watch this last night. A good program again, although I thought they could have done more with it. I met Colin a couple of times, once when he was rallying at Oulton Park circuit in his Nova, and we were up against him in a Nova also. He was visually so fast, on 3 wheels most of the time in the corners. And again later on at the Hilton Hotel in Swansea on the Kayel Graphics rally, he was then going for the british championship in his Subaru. He was always there, mingling with the other competitors, and although seemed to enjoy the fame, was never rude or stand-offish.
I saw him on a number of times on the RAC or Rally GB, and he was so fast, a real talent, and one of the greatest ever rally drivers I think. A very sad loss to the sport, and rallying has never been the same since he, and Richard Burns passed.
Nice to see him recognised in the same vein as Jackie Stewart and Stirling Moss. _________________ Born to rally, forced to work!
