nice , my mates chief engineer at talyllin railway and another mate of mine steve is manager /cheif engineer at corris railway.i get free rides on both and can use the engineering gear in the workshops too.lovely

Beeching really screwed the Welsh railways in the 60's; try getting a train these days from Bangor to Cardiff, I think you have to go via Leeds (exaggeration to make a point !)

The plus side is that there are loads of good small steam railways using the old track , also quite a few narrow gauge stuff from various quarries and mines have been preserved thanks for posting, I'll watch that.

I would love to go to Wales and go on the railways. 66 and never been to Wales...must go. I would also like to go on the Manx railway. Looking forward to the programmes this week.

On iPlayer go to the alphabetical listing W Welsh Railways, the 2 small icons at the bottom are Monday and Tuesdays progs and the big one is todays.
