Today I went with my mate to Bridge of Earn so he could get a pair of sills and rear wheel arches for his marina saloon.
We went to this old cottage and it was a collectors paradise. There was stuff everywhere just lying around. Old lorry axles and engines lying everywhere, bits of machinery. There was a restored Ferguson tractor in a shed. A 1966 Morris LDO Ex Post Office van well sunk into the ground. A completely rotten Marina pick up with the original canvas hood in good nick with no tears in it. Another old tractor under a cover and an Ex GPO Z type van in a shed . The van was restored in 1974 and hardly moved since. It was in good nick and there was a back axle and wheels for a 1920s Morris Cowley.
It makes you wonder what else is lying about under cover in sheds at these old country cottages.
Probably there is someone somewhere needing a back axle for an old Cowley.
What an eye opener it was today. I love going to places like that. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |
