I have just bought a VW LT 35 camper, 1981 with the 2 litre petrol engine, my excuse is that it was (1) Ebay madness (2) cheap.
Of course it came with the obligatory rust and algae/moss, plus petrol leak.
Heath Robinson had been at work on the petrol pipes, never knew there were so many types and sizes of pipe.
The difficulty is being an early van, I am having problems sourcing spares for it.
The camcover is missing and the header coolant tank looks on it's last legs.
The wife is scrubbing out the interior and I would hate to tell her it has become another garden ornament.
Regards Kels. |

Hi Kels,
I know a former fellow VW apprentice, who have a VW LT camber.
Its heavely modified = from 4 cyl Perkins 4 speed box, to 5 (or 6?) VW engine, with 5 speed box, also got servo steering now etc.
He has also made central heating in it, and fitted solar pannels, so the battery dont get drained.
rare cars now . _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |
