There were a number of Lotus Sunbeams used, and one force tested the Chevette HS. Shall we include the Germans using Porsche 911s, and the Italians using Lamborghini? |

Daimler SP250 strikes me as being an odd choice. They worked out of Hampton on Thames garage when I lived there in the early 60s. I think the Met's historic fleet is still based there. |

Ford V8 Pilots were often used as police cars. There used to be a couple of ex police Pilots locally. They had 12 volt electrics, and big calibrated speedo in the centre of the dash were the radio speaker would normally be. The one had a 3.9 litre Mercury engine, the owner thought this was an original police option.
In a local history book I remember seeing a 3 wheeled Morgan police car, 1920's I think |

Not old or classic yet. This gives some idea of the US/Canada Ford Taurus AWD police spec unit.

Built on a dedicated assembly line, as were the previous Crown Victoria.
The introduction of AWD to these powerfull beasts will do much to keep them facing in the right direction.
They are not 100% complete when delivered from the factory. Lights, sirens, gun mounts and communication systems are installed to suit specific locations.

The Crown Vic was a classic in its own lifetime. It really was the end of an era when Ford dropped it |

One the first vehicles I had, when moving here in 2002, was a Maroon "Crown Vicki". Like driving down the road in one's living room.
It was a 1999 with 65,000 Km and cost $4000 CDN (£2000 at 2002 x-rate) |

Ford RS 200
MGB
Lamborgini
Aston Martin one-77
Ferrari
2cv
Lotus exige
Bugatti Veyron
And I seem to remember in NW london in the 70's a Jensen FF, but that might have been a 'Q' car which opens the doors to everything, even seen a Bentley as a 'Q' car and it was used as a road block when a friends car was demolished by a stolen car that had been chased from Kent and through the capital in the early 1970's. |
