Coming up for 100k and says nothing about DMF replacement. Definitely a £1k repair bill coming soon unless you do it yourself.

Are there no cheaper workarounds for this yet? (never had one, know nothing about them Smile)

We had one changed on a Pug (I think Pugs and Ford share the same mechanics these days on the diesels)

The dmf wasn't noisy, but the car needed a clutch (about 140K) so it made sense to replace the dmf at the same. It was about £570 including vat, I think about £400 of that was for the clutch kit and dmf with 3 or 4 hours labour, that's our local independent, I can well imagine a dealer charging a 4 figure sum Evil or Very Mad

If you drive in a way that wears clutches quickly, then you will also wear the dmf quickly,.

I guess the bottom line is that it adds £200 for a clutch replacement, don't forget the dmf action reduces wear on other bits of the transmission, so its a bit swings and roundabouts.
