I have placed in the FORD section an article on a Ford Anglia 105E built in 1968.

I did everything your dad told you not to do ....purchased it blind over the phone, then sent a transport guy 200 miles with my cash to collect it on Sunday........How did it pan out.?

Was it the car of horror.?

Was it only fit for the next banger race meeting.?

You all know what a down at heal Ford Anglia looks like after the boy racers have had their mits on it.!!!

Full of BONDO,doors that stick out and sag.wings rotten as a pear, ripped and torn interiors, engines that rattle or have had later engines fitted from Cortina`s.

Can you purchase a cracking car without seeing it.?

I'm a masochist - I've bought all 3 of my classics unseen on the Net from private sellers!

All of them have been better than I expected. I find the general private classic owner is trustworthy and very pleasant. They all gave me as much time as I wanted to look at the car before handing over the cash anyway when I came to collect. A couple of them fed and watered me too!

Conversely the only bad experience I've had has been with a dealer - never again.

I have bought 3 Morris 8's all unseen Shocked

Didn't pay more than what I knew could be realised by breaking them, + they all had original plates, the plate value alone would be worth more than What I paid.
