Hi, I am new on this forum, living in the Netherlands. Found a ‘32 Morris Minor 2-seater Tourer, after a lot of work it went back on the road. But sadly after some time the differential, which was already noisy-even after adjusting backlash- gave it up: 2 pinion teeth broken and crownwheel damaged. How to find replacement? No chance of finding these kind of parts here in the Netherlands, hence the question on his forum.
Diff housing of aluminum is still ok, so a set of gears would do.
But would rather change to Morris Eight diff, cast iron housing and a slightly better reduction (7:37 in stead of 8:43) will that fit?
Even thinking about adapting the rear axle to suit “modern” Minor/Midget diff (available here) has anyone experience with that?
Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Welcome to the forum. I've also got a '32 two-seater, and until recently had a '34 saloon.

When I thought I had a problem with the '34's differential, I managed to find a replacement. However I didn't need it and the seller took it back. Whether it's the same ratio as a '32 two-seater I don't know. The seller posted on the prewarminor.com forum, I imagine if you post a request on there he'll reply to you.

As for whether a Morris 8 diff will fit, I'm not sure!!

Do you have any photos of your '32? I'd be interested to see it if possible.

rgds, RJ
