Does anyone know if the morris minor crown and pinion is the same size and fit as the morris 8?
My pinion has numerous broken teeth.
So i need to replace.

Hi Dave,
After writing the message and asking Mr Google about the issue as well and finding out how it wont work, i thought that the question may not be right one to ask.
So i proceeded to delete the message may be that caused the error.
You are very correct in your response the modifcations would be significant may as well look for replacement parts.

Hi, After my orginal post on this topic i have not had much fun sorting out the problem.
I have a crown wheel and pinion in the car that has 7 teeth on the pinion and 37 teeth on the crown giving a ratio of 5,2857. I am hoping this is standard.
The crown wheel also only has 6 fixing holes. Does anyone know where i could try and get a new one of these or something similiar that will work in the Pre war Series 1 Morris 8 Diff?
People here in South Africa have mentioned having the Pinion repaired?
I am not so sure this is the way to go.
Regards Trevor |

Hi All,
Thanks to the Internet and the Morris Family out there i managed to find a new Crown Wheel and Pinion so all good from here on.
At least the back wheels will get some power.
