Hallo Folk!

Does anyone have experience with an Weber DCOE 45 Carburetter?
We have some problems with them on an Aston Martin DB6 vantage..

It idles good, and in first gear no problem..
Once you put it in second and push the accelerator pedal down it holds back.. the car doesn't pull like it should..

Any ideas, tips, advice?

I would be looking at the ignition timing first. Can the revs be increased by gentler application of the pedal? It's unlikely that all 3 carbs have a problem.

Do these carbs have an accelerator pump? maybe there's a problem there, eg blocked jet or similar? I had a problem with the ancient carb on the truck when I brought it back home. It would idle, and drive, kind of, but wouldn't really pull much at all. Turns out the accelerator pump mechanism hadn't been fitted...

Are you sure it's the carbs?..if it works ok in 1st gear it should work in all gears.

Thanks for the replies guys!

My collegue from AM had this problem today.. I wasn't working on the car...
He called me that he had that problem (they aren't used to work on classic AM's so they have to ask me.. I'm 19 he's nearly 50 :p :p )
He changed the spark plugs and then did all the adjusting/testing...
I adviced him to do another test drive with the new ones and then see how they look..
The airbox that connects all the carbs was very dirty, and the new sparkplugs became to wet while adjusting so they didn't work properly anymore..

So I think for now the problem is solved, Thanks chaps!!!
