Can anyone advise me where I might locate information and images from the 1947 Monte Carlo Concours d'elegance. Having tried internet searching I am getting nothing at all!
There was a Alvis Ta14 with saloon coachwork by Airflow Streamlines of Northampton (known as a Airflow 'Woodland' saloon) displayed and gained an award for coachwork. As I am restoring one of these, I am trying to gather as much information as I can.
Thanks

Hi. Thanks for that riley541. I have been in touch with Airflow Streamlines a few years back, but they have no records, they were destroyed prior to 1964!
Many thanks for showing an interest.

Hi Jason. I will dig out some photo's as soon as I can. However my restoration has been on hold for a number of years now. Family life, house building and other cars have taken their toll on my time since I bought the car some 20yrs ago. I intend to get back to working on the car in the near future!!!!
I do have a second 'Woodland' which is also in a bad state. This one was MOT'd when I got it, but the body frame; especially the main load bearing timber on the drivers side; was so bad I did not want to chance driving it.
Are you familiar with the body style of the 'Woodland'? There is a picture on the Alvis Club site if you would like to see the shape; this seems to be the only published period shot of one of these from a motoring magazine of the time. There are only three known to the Alvis Club; out of 15 or 16 made; so I am determined to make sure mine survive.
The photo's I have of my restoration were take before the 'digital age' so it will take me a little while to dig them out and scan them to put on here.
Will get back to you as soon as I can.
