Received this via facebook just now:

-------------------

Hello, We are having a press launch event at Bletchley Park and want to take Bletchley back in time to the 1940s. Do any of your members have cars / trucks / bikes from the 30s or 40s? And would they be prepared to bring them to Bletchley between 4pm and 8pm on Weds 26th June to join the fun? (Period costume also required, but we can arrange that if needed!) Please would you forward this to any of your members who may be interested. Many thanks, Drew Woodcock - Bremont Watch Company

We are a watch manufacturer, and every year we do a limited edition which incorporate actual parts of real things that either fascinate us or are special to us. For example, special editions to date include a Supermarine Spitfire, a P-51 Mustang and HMS Victory, each watch incorporating material from the original.

This year's limited edition is 'The Codebreaker', and " will incorporate some relevant historical artefacts from Bletchley Park; pine from the iconic Hut 6 (the centre of the operations to decrypt the German Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe Engima ciphers) and paper from one of the few remaining punch cards (used to analyse the vast amount of coded data created from the daily Enigma communications.) Part of the rotor of the watch will be made from the wheel of an original Enigma machine." (If interested, please see our website http://www.bremont.com/briefing-room/codebreaker for more info)

The reason I am writing is to ask if any of your members would be interested in helping with our launch event which will take place at Bletchley Park on 26th June. We are looking for vehicles from the era, WW2 vehicles, re-enactments, anything at all to recreate atmosphere and bring Bletchley back to life for a day. The event will run from 5pm to 9pm and will be attended by approx 300 press and guests from around the world. I am aiming to get all the cars on-site for approx 4pm.

As you will know, Bletchley was never a military base, so although I do want a limited amount of WW2 military vehicles, there would have been more civilian vehicles there than military.
