Hi Kev
Welcome.
Never had much to do with VW's, but I can see the attraction when looking at your photos.

Hello Kev welcome to the forum Love the VW I think those colours work so well together, forgive me asking but that looks very much like Southwold pier in the back ground if so then I'm sure Ive seen you at some of the shows in the Lowestoft area or at least a VW very much like it. Regards Steve

Hi mate and welcome. I've also never really got the VW bus following, but yours does look very nice mate. I was looking at one the other week in JD Classics in Maldon, Essex. I think they said the guy will be looking to spend circa £400k on this thing when it's finished. It'll be completed this year they said, it does look pretty special. Next time I'm there in June, I'll take some pics for you.

Just found this one in my pics from a year ago when I was there. This was the finished shell. It's nearly done now when I went the other week. I'll make sure to take some more when I go in June if it's still there then. It's a hell of a thing. All bespoke interior to order. Flat screen TV, full audio system, fresh water and waste water tanks, air suspension, all sorts.

I was talking with the engineer at JD who is working on the Splity

A lot of new part are rejected by the owner and he gets JD to make copies to finer tolerances.

The owner will be commuting between Austria and the UK with it.

Nice to see them being used and not just posed.
Used to work for VW at St Johns Wood in the early 1970's so these were everywhere and yet to get the cult status.
40 years on and I still love them, more of a Beetle man though.
