|
|
Hi,
Just about to have my Marcos interior retrimmed and the harness seatbelts have to pass through the leather trim of the seat and fibreglass seat backs.
What i need is some of the rectangle plastic hole trim pieces (seatbelt grommets) that fit into the seat for the belt to pass through, need 8 in total.
Without these grommets the seatbelt will become frayed on the rough cut fibreglass backing and also it will rub on the leather causing unnecessary wear.
Does anybody know where i can purchase them from beside Cobreau who sell them at £10 each (i need 8 ouch)
The belt material is 2 inches wide and the buckle is 2 and 3/4 inches wide, the buckle will have to pass through the hole to fit to the anchor point.
Regards,
Martyn.... |

I have made simular grommets with some electrical cable; carefully slit the cable lengthways, remove the core, cut to required length and superglue the two ends.

Dave,
That is original and a little off the wall but it might just work,
Thanks for the tip,
