At first glance it is a nice car, albeit in a fanciful colour scheme. The upholstery is definitely not anything like it would have been ex-factory. Cloth upholstery was all cloth, not a mixture of cloth and leather/vinyl. The original cloth was 'Bedford Cord'
Under the bonnet, the glass fuel sediment bowl is a later addition, but luckily the original cast iron one is still in place behind the glass one. Th route of the fuel line from the sediment bowl to the carburetor is wrong, it should drop down from the bowl, to then run more-or-less horizontally forward to the carby, and should be brass tubing all the way. The mixture-control lever should join the carby with a patent sleeved system, certainly should not be with a hose clamp and I see a couple more modifications around the engine bay.
All in all though, it looks a very nice car. The Tudor was a very strong body design and virtually all steel except for wood to support the roof fabric, so should be in good order. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |
