I imagine that an A70 is the stuff of nightmares for forum regular Salopian Wink , but this A70 appears to be in reasonable condition, and should go ok once the fuel tank has been fixed/cleaned as necessary. A good buy at ~ £1k? Are the rear springs new, or re-tempered, as it sits a little high at the back?

That is so tempting! I'm also intrigued about the springs, the rear ones could have been uprated for towing, although it looks a little low at the front like the springs have been chopped (although this could be an illusion due to the height of the back end). 70's custom rake job?

Also, why does Salopian not like A70's?

I've a hunch that he prefers pre-war, ideally pre-30 cars, that's all Smile

It'd complement your fleet pretty well I reckon RH Smile

Finished at £2252, probably a fair price. Did anyone here buy it?

Not me sadly.

A local Austin enthusiast and acquaintance of mine mentioned to me last time I spoke to him that he was looking to thin out his fleet and sell his A40 Somerset, A70 Hereford and A30 saloon. The Hereford is on the road and in good original condition, with a factory sunroof and a great original interior. The A30 is off the road but won't need much work. Interestingly it is an ex driving school car with dual controls (disconnected!). The Somerset needs a fair bit of work but is a good project.

Next time I see him I'll ask how much he's looking for the Hereford Cool
