my morris has had a seized distributor ever since I've had it, it hasn't affected the running at all but just means that the manual advance and retard on the steering wheel control did not work.

I've tried all sorts and i would say that there has been at least an entire can of WD40 used on it over time and still nothing, i've tried wedges, levers, pullers nothing made it budge.

someone recommended 'Plus Gas'... i think it was probably on this forum, so i got myself a can and put it on the shelf ready for when i had a spare 5 mins...that was about 6 months ago, but this evening i found it on the shelf and thought it was worth a try...

well i'm impressed to say the least, a couple of sprays, 1 minute to soak then a gentle wiggle of the control on the column and the bloody thing starts to move!!! work it back and forth 10 or so times and now its as free as a bird!

... i'm now actively looking for other things that are stuck! Very Happy

Wd40 is great for what it was designed for, displacing moisture etc, plus gas is a great penetrating fluid, ive always had a can in the garage. Other oils are available. Glad you are sorted however

Plusgas is the best releasing fluid I've found.
WD40 is also very good for assembling anything made of plastic it also cleans marks and grease etc off nylon and plastic (try an unseen bit first though).
