Of course! The cars are specially prepared for such events, there's no reason why they shouldn't take part. Classics get subject to far more intensive workouts; the Peking to Paris for example. |

The simple answer is YES! We use a MKII Ford Zodiac for the Rally Of The Tests and similar events.
It takes a lot of time to get the car sorted and it's worth it when you finish such a demanding challenge without a major problem.
It can be tough on the cars but we don't take silly risks.
Our car had a meeting with a tree in 2007..the font was damaged but it was sorted out and now you couldn't tell.
It's great fun..can be reasonably cheap if you do the work yourself and it's not always about winning. _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |

Hi John, I thought you would at least be using a Saab, with three cylinders & three coils! I do like the Zodiac though, but I'm biased, cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

There are plenty of V4 and 2 stroke cars getting dirty out there
I think we will be looking to use a Volvo Amazon in the future...i have been so impressed with my 121 that I can't help thinking it may gain us a point or two over the Zodiac...it's a great car but very heavy on the twisty bits...the Amazon is a little lower and has a fantastic turning circle.
Finding a good 123GT is proving harder than i thought it would be though. _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |
