Who told you it needed an MOT?
as Rick commented; commercials have been tax exempt for some time and cars manufactured prior to 1960 have been exempt since last Nov. If for what ever reason the date of manufacture can not be verified it will need an MOT, so I'd check the V5, remember its date of manufacture not date of registration that counts.

Pre 60 Commercials (if not used for commercial purposes) have been exempted from Tax and MOT for a number of years now. If in doubt check the VOSA website. |
